Who is @annarobbxo?

My story starts about an hour north of here in White Lake, MI—a completely different environment from the city I now call home. Think: hunting, fishing, riding ATVs, wakeboarding, and basically spending every second I could outside. My family took a lot of trips up north, and my childhood was all about being surrounded by nature.

I went to a small private school from kindergarten all the way through high school. And when I say small, I mean small—my graduating class had around 40 kids, most of whom I had known my entire life. So when I went to Michigan State University for my first year of college, it was a lot. After struggling to adjust, I transferred to Oakland University, moved back home to White Lake, and commuted to school. That’s where I got my degree in Journalism and Multimedia.

I’ve always been into social media and storytelling, but when I was in college, social media wasn’t really a thing you could major in yet. It was just starting to take off, but not something you built a career on (yet). When I graduated, I only had one job offer: an internship in Detroit working in social media. And honestly? I was scared.

Growing up, everything I knew about Detroit came from the news—and let’s just say it wasn’t the usually positive. But the second I stepped into the city on my first day of work, everything changed. The energy, the creativity, the culture—I fell in love instantly and made it my mission to move there. About a year later my dream became reality and Detroit became my home.

Since that first day, my life has changed in ways I never expected. I’ve met my people, some of my best friends. I’ve built a brand, grown a community, and found a way to create and share stories that actually mean something.

So, welcome. Whether you’ve been following along for a while or you’re just getting to know me, I’m so glad you’re here.
